Tigers Host a Pair of MEAC Schools This Week

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball hosts a pair of schools from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference this week as Maryland Eastern Shore pays a visit to Schuerholz Park on Tuesday, and Delaware State comes to town on Wednesday. Both games are set for a 3 p.m. first pitch.

Midweek Weather
The forecast is calling for temperatures near 50 degrees on Tuesday and around 60 on Wednesday.
 
Series History vs. MDES
The Tigers lead the series with Maryland Eastern Shore 5-1. Towson had won the first five meetings before falling on the road last year.

The Tigers posted their second shutout of the season at The Citadel. It marks the first time the Tigers had multiplel shutouts in a season since posting two during the 2014 season.
 
Palacios Nears Stolen Base Record
Junior Richie Palacios is a perfect 17-for-17 on stolen bases this season. He raised his career total to 68 stolen bases and is one bag shy of tying the mark of 69 set by Shane Justis (2002-05).
 
Alleyne's Big Day
Craig Alleyne made the most of his opportunity in the doubleheader against The Citadel. He went 4-for-5 with three RBIs in the first game and came back in the second game with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly.
 
Marriggi Fires Shutout
David Marriggi kept The Citadel off balanace all day as the lefty allowed just three hits over seven shutout innings to pick up the win.
 
On Deck
The Tigers return to conference action as they travel to face UNCW April 20-22. The series will get underway at 6 p.m.
