TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team visits the College of Charleston this weekend for its final regular season road trip. This will be Towson's sixth Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) series.
The Tigers (38-11 overall, 11-4 CAA) and Cougars (27-21, 6-9) will play a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. and conclude the three-game series with a single game on Sunday starting at 12 p.m.
Towson has won four consecutive CAA series and 10 straight games against conference opponents. Towson has already clinched a berth in the CAA tournament for the 13th time in program history.
Overall, the Tigers enter this weekend series having won nine games in a row.
During its nine-game winning streak, Towson is hitting .412 with 14 homers and 77 RBIs. The Tigers have scored double digits in six of those games and are averaging 8.8 runs per contest. They have also won a pair of one-run affairs.
Their only two wins of 2018 when trailing after the first inning have occured during this winning streak. Meanwhile, Towson's pitching has posted a 1.58 earned run average during this streak.
Towson heads to Charleston leading the country in doubles per game (1.88). The Tigers are also second in scoring (7.02 runs per game), third in batting average (.345), fifth in on-base percentage (.418), and sixth in slugging percentage (.539). Towson's .776 winning percentage is also 16th nationally.

Scott is second in batting (.491), total bases (130), and hits (78). She's third in doubles (20) and in toughest to strikeout (53.0). Scott is also fifth in doubles per game (0.43), 22nd in slugging percentage (.818), 24th in on-base percentage (.523), 26th in RBIs (47), 32nd in runs per game (0.98), and 42nd in RBIs per game (1.00).
Meanwhile, Miko leads the nation in RBIs per game (1.35). She is second in doubles (21) and RBIs (66). Miko is also fourth in doubles per game (0.43), sixth in sacrifice flies (5), eighth in runs per game (1.10), eighth in total bases (119), 10th in hits (66), 17th in batting (.437), 24th in toughest to strikeout (25.2) and 28th in slugging percentage (.788).
Wilson is 16th in hits (16), 20th in doubles (15), and 43rd in doubles per game (0.33). Stockinger, who leads Towson with 13 home runs is 27th nationally. She is also 15th in RBIs (51) and 29th in RBIs per game (1.06). With 20 victories, Dejter is 19th nationally.
Meanwhile, Charleston had its four-game winning streak end when it dropped the series finale at Delaware, 3-2, last Sunday. Taylor DuPree had three hits and an RBI for the Cougars. With a .395 batting average, DuPree is fifth in the CAA with 62 hits. She also leads Charleston with 14 stolen bases.
Other top offensive threats for CofC include Yari Felix (.350), Kelly Sinclair (.342), Sara Garcia (.333), Jordin Jones (.303), and Taylor Belfiore (.288). Sinclair, Garcia, and Jones all have more than 30 RBIs each. Jones and Garcia have combined to hit nine home runs.
Izzy Berouty and Summer Jenkins anchor a Charleston staff with a combined 3.72 earned run average. Teams are hitting .289 against Charleston's staff.
Towson finishes its regular season next Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 against 24th-ranked Hofstra. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday at 12 p.m. and a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Tigers will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday.
