Key Plays

  • With the tying runs in scoring position with one out in the ninth, Kody Reeser got a pop up and a groundout to end the game.

How it Happened
  • The Tigers got on the board first as Richie Palacios led off the third inning with a double off the fence in left field. Following a hit by pitch and a sacrifice bunt, Mark Grunberg singled up the middle to score Palacios from third.
  • Towson extended its lead in the fifth inning after Andrew Cassard singled and Palacios walked to start the inning.
  • Colin Gimblet followed a sacrifice bunt with a two-run double into the gap in left center.
  • Grunberg drove in his second run of the game as he greeted the new pitcher with a RBI single through the right side.
  • The Cougars got on the board without the benefit of a hit in the sixth after a leadoff walk made it to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball. Dupree Hart drove in the run with a groundout.
  • Charleston started the seventh inning with a walk and followed with what they thought was a run-scoring double. The ball was ruled out of play, forcing the runner to stop at third.
  • That call proved big for the Tigers as the runner at third was thrown out at home trying to score on a wild pitch.
  • Cuas (1-4) departed after allowing a leadoff single in the eighth inning. He allowed just one unearned run on four hits and seven strikeouts over seven innings.
  • Kody Reeser entered the game in the eighth and needed only two pitches to get a 4-6-3 double play and a flyout.
  • Towson would add an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth as Richard Miller singled to start the inning and came in to score on a Trey Martinez bloop single down the right-field line.
  • Reeser ran into trouble in the ninth as the Cougars scored a pair of runs and had the trying runs in scoring position.
  • He was able to wiggle out of any further damage by getting a flyout to shallow left and a groundout to short.
  • Reeser earned the first save of his career in his first relief outing this season.
