During the month of August, the Tiger Athletic Fund (TAF) will go behind the scenes and have conversations with student-athletes, alumni and fans who support the Tigers.
 
TAF recently had the chance to catch up with Tiger fan and supporter, Kent Pearce.
 
Kent attended undergrad at McDaniel College and continued his education at Mount St. Mary's to pursue a Masters of Business Administration. Kent has been with Merrill Lynch his entire 20-plus year career and his Private Wealth Group, The Pearce Group @ Merrill Lynch, has been acknowledged the last 11 years in a row by Barron's publication as one of America's Top Financial Advisors. Kent and his team are further recognized every year for their consistent performance through additional numerous National awards and distinctions and was most recently named to the 2018 FORBES Best-in-State Wealth Managers list. 
 
The Tiger Athletic Fund is extremely thankful for Kent's investment in the Tigers. Although he is neither an alumnus nor a parent of a student, Kent embodies what it means to be a Tiger. Loyal donors are the lifeblood to our success, no matter their affinity to the university. Investing in the Tiger Athletic Fund contributes to student-athlete scholarships and help shape the experience for more than 500 student-athletes.

TAF: What about TU Athletics inspired you to buy-in to our mission to support over 500 student-athletes?
KP:  The ability to give back to our local Towson community & higher education through Towson University and their student athletes.
 
TAF: The athletic department competes with a good amount of sports entertainment in the area. What would you say to someone thinking about going to a Towson game, but hasn't yet?
KP: Go…Reward yourself!! It's fun, energetic and family friendly!
 
TAF: As a citizen of the Greater Baltimore area, if you could choose one word to capture the essence of Towson University, what would it be?
KP: Momentum.
 
TAF: There are over 500 young men and women who benefit from your annual support. Has there ever been a time where you have seen or felt your impact?
KP: Yes, through the personal, handwritten thank you letters I receive regularly from the Towson University student athletes.  It is so rewarding for me personally to learn how they are fulfilling their potential.
