TOWSON, Md. – In celebration of the 50
th year of Towson University football, 3 Penny Films has produced "The First 50," a documentary about the start and continuation of the program.
And now, fans can watch this 50-minute documentary online for free.

Stories including the start of the program under Coach Carl Runk, a threat of cancellation of the program in the early 1990s, a meeting between all four Tiger head coaches, Towson's rise while moving divisions and much, much more.
The film was produced by Joe Schreiber and Jess Atkinson of 3 Penny Films. Multiple Towson personnel were involved with the building of this project.
On Saturday, Sept. 29, Towson football hosts The Citadel in the home opener at Johnny Unitas Stadium at 4 p.m. Tickets are available now by calling 1-855-TU-TIGER or email 4tigertix@towson.edu.
Towson University is celebrating its 50
th year of football in 2018. Since its inception, Towson is the only program in college football to earn playoff berths in Division I FCS, Division II and Division III. The program has two national runner-up finishes in 1976 and 2013 and earned a top-26 national ranking in 11 different seasons.
