TOWSON, Md. – As the nation paused to reflect on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., members of the Towson University men's basketball team did the same.
 
The Tigers have a big week ahead at home as they host the top two teams in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in preseason favorite Northeastern on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Hofstra, which has the nation's longest winning streak at 14 games, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
Freshman forward Solomon Uyaelunmo, junior Brian Fobbs, freshman guard Chris Caligurian, freshman guard Jakigh Dottin and senior guard Jordan McNeil shared their favorite King quote and what it means to them. In addition, they also shared how they are making Dr. King's dream a reality during their daily lives.

Meaning To Him: If there's so much hate anywhere, there can't be peace. Only love for one another can bring peace.
I Am Making King's Dream A Reality: "By spreading love and being a light in a society."
 
Fobbs
Favorite King Quote: "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
Meaning To Him: That means you have to believe in yourself and believe that you can do anything you put your mind too and accomplish your goals

Caligurian
Favorite King Quote: "The time is always right to do what is right."
Meaning To Him: To me this quote means doing what is right even when no one is looking or knows. It is one thing to do good when people are watching, but it is another to do it when no one notices.
I Am Making King's Dream A Reality: "By seeing everyone as equal. Even though we still have a ways to go, I feel we could all make a difference by simply treating others with respect and seeing them for all they are versus just their race."
 
Dottin
Favorite King Quote: "If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. But by all means, keep moving."
Meaning To Him: This a quote that's always stood out to me because it has a lot to do with staying strong and preserving through difficult obstacles. Things happen and you're hit with different hints every day, but you just have to keep moving forward.
I Am Making King's Dream A Reality: "Everyday because I look for a way to improve and try to see if what I can do to make change. If I'm making somebody's day with a smile or giving a handshake and a hug, I know that's meaningful. Things like that really help to improve the world. It shows who you are and the gives a good outlook to the people who view you."

Meaning To Him: This quote means a lot to me and I believe it is 100% true. There is so much hate in this world and it could easily be solved if there was more love.
I Am Making King's Dream A Reality: "I try to show love to everyone, whether I know them or not. You never know what someone is going through, so if you promote the love to them they hopefully it will help them out."
