TOWSON, Md. – The 2018 FCS football season is over, and the Towson University football team comes in at No. 20 in the final STATS FCS Poll and No. 22 in the last America Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Poll of 2018.
This marks the first year since 2013 when Towson finishes in the top-25.
Towson spent eight regular season weeks in the top-20 of each the coaches and STATS polls, being in the rankings for the first year since 2014.
The Tigers went 7-5 overall in 2018, tying for third place in the Colonial Athletic Association at 5-3. In The team earned an at-large bid into the NCAA FCS Playoffs, returning to the tournament for the first time since 2013.
Four Tigers earned All-America honors this year, including
Shane Simpson,
Aidan O'Neill,
Tom Flacco and
Matt Kauffman. They were all part of the top scoring offense in the CAA at 34.5 points per game.
