RICHMOND, Va. –Towson University women's soccer freshman
Jacey Miller earned All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) honors. The league office released the All-Conference Teams Thursday afternoon in advance of the CAA Tournament.
Miller, who hails from Auburn, Pennsylvania, was named Third Team All- CAA and All-Rookie Team. This is the second year in a row the Tigers have had someone named to both as
Justine Stoner made the Third Team and
Jenna Blank made the All-Rookie Team last year.
Miller, a sports management major, started in all 18 games as a defender for Towson. She had one assist, one point and three shots with one shot on goal. Her assist helped the Tigers defeat Mount St. Mary's on Aug. 29 to help claim the Battle of Baltimore title. As a defender she had a huge role in helping the defense have some huge defensive stops on shots in conference play which contributed to Towson's goalkeeper being ranked number one in saves.
Sabrina Bryan was named 2019 CAA Player of the Year, while Hofstra's Lucy Porter won Midfielder of the Year. Porter's teammate, Anja Suttner, and Delaware's Olivia Schuck were named Defensive Players of the Year. UNCW's Sydney Schneider won Goalkeeper of the Year and Suttner also won Rookie of the Year. Simon Riddiough from Hofstra won Coach of the Year.
