TOWSON, Md. – Due to the recent weather conditions in Greenville, South Carolina, the Towson University softball team will not travel to the Furman Tournament this weekend.

The tournament was scheduled to begin Friday, Feb. 22. Furman was set to host Stony Brook, Tennessee Tech and Towson in the tournament this weekend, but rain over the last 48 hours and forecasts calling for more before Friday forced the decision to cancel.

Towson (4-4) will host its home opener Friday, March 1 in the TU DeMarini Invite when it faces Yale at 3 p.m. Other teams in the tournament include Hartford and Monmouth.
