TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University cross country team was named an NCAA Division I All-Academic Team. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognizes Division I teams that excel in both the classroom and in competition.
Towson finished with a team GPA of 3.22 in 2018 and are one of 427 teams between both men's and women's cross country to be named to the All-Academic Teams list. Radford University had the highest women's GPA with 3.87 while Southern Illinois University finished with a 3.67 on the men's side.
The Tigers were recognized for their Academic Progress Rate last May, the team's ninth-straight year of celebration in APR. The cross country team also received celebration in the fall for its graduation success rate of at least 90 percent.
