TOWSON, Md. - For the next six weekends the Towson University women's gymnastics team is on the road beginning Saturday, Feb. 9 as it travels to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Tigers will face the Tar Heels of University of North Carolina.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. inside Carmichael Arena.

Tigers Last Time Out
Towson defeated West Chester University 193.525-192.550 last Sunday inside SECU Arena. The Tigers swept the Rams in all events.
Ally Wesoly won the all-around for the second week in the row scoring 38.925. Wesoly also won on the uneven bars soring 9.775. She finished in third on vault with a score of 9.700.
Emerson Hurst and Cortni Baker tied for first-place on vault scoring 9.750. The Tigers had the top-three spots on beam. Mary Elle Arduino and Hurst tied for first with a 9.775. Wesoly came in third with a 9.650.
Baker and Wesoly tied for first on floor with a 9.800.
Scouting the Tar Heels
UNC finished in second place in Pittsburgh last Friday with a score of 194.050. The Tar Heels defeated Pittsburg (193.550) and fell to Temple (194.200).
Khazia Hislop scored above a 9.900 in three events placing first in the vault, beam and floor.
Rylie Dewhurst placed second with a score of 9.750 and Mekyllah Williams placed sixth with a 9.700 on bars.
Hislop scored 9.925 on beam and teammates Alexis Allen and Jamie DeCicco scored 9.800.
Lilly Dean and Mikayla Robinson tied for third with scores of 9.825 on floor.
Drew Aldridge tied for fifth on vault scoring 9.775.
National Rankings
· Hurst is ranked second in the league on balance beam with an average score of 9.844 and a high score of 9.875. She is tied 35th in the nation with an average score.
· Ally Wesoly is ranked fourth in conference in the all-around with an average score of 38.681 and a high score of 38.950. She is sixth on the uneven bars (9.756 avg., 9.850 high), 18th on vault (9.681 avg., 9.750 high) and 24th on beam (9.656 avg., 9.800 high).
· Cortni Baker is ranked 14th in conference on vault with an average score of 9.700 and a high score of 9.750. She is 12th on floor (9.794 avg., 9.825 high) and 15th on the uneven bars (9.675 avg., 9.700 high).
· Nikki Borkowski is ranked 24th in conference on vault with an average score of 9.650 and a high score of 9.700.
· Leah Smith is ranked 20th in conference on the uneven bars with a 9.625 average and a high score of 9.725.
· Mary Elle Arduino is ranked 14th in conference on beam with a 9.750 average and a high score of 9.875. She is tied for 17th in conference on the uneven bars (9.644 avg., 9.700 high) and 23rd on floor (9.731 avg., 9.750 high).
· Melissa Temkov is ranked 24th in conference on floor (9.725 avg., 9.725 high).
Amplitude the Awards
Ally Wesoly was named New Day USA Student-Athlete of the Week alongside redshirt junior Dennis Tunstall from men's basketball.
She had two first-place wins and a first-place tie in three of her events. She won the all-around for the second straight week with a score of 38.925.
Tigers in the Community
•Towson is the Division I national champion of the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition for the Fall 2018 semester. Towson completed the most community service hours among all schools in the competition, including 75 different Division I departments and approximately 300 total programs across the country.
•The Tigers have been chaperones at a clinic in Pennsylvania as well as helping with the High Performance Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 13 inside the Towson Center.
•The Tigers also host a kid's night out each semester.
•Throughout the semester, the team will have local schools visit to talk about setting goals.
