TOWSON, Md. – With the special leotards including pink Tiger logos, the Towson University gymnastics team won its home tri-meet over Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State.
Towson put up a team score of 193.900, defeating Bridgeport by a full point of 192.900. SCSU finished at 190.050.
As a team, the Tigers earned season-bests in the vault and the uneven bars to propel themselves to victory. Towson notched a 48.825 in the vault and a 48.775 in the bars. The Tigers had the best group score in all four events, getting a 48.500 on the floor exercise and a 47.800 on the balance beam.
Towson's score of 193.900 is its second-highest of the season, only surpassed by its 194.0750 against William & Mary on January 26
th.
How It Happened
- Ally Wesoly finished second in the all-around with a score of 38.525, including a season-high 9.850 on the vault, tying for the top score in the meet in that event. She also tied for first on the bars at 9.800. She tied with teammate Tess Zientek, who earned a season-high.
- Towson had the top-three scores in the bars, adding Jaz Kauffman, who earned a season-high 9.775 for third. Cortni Baker also tied a season-high, picking up a 9.750.
- The vault saw five Tigers earn season-highs with the team taking three of the top four and four of the top seven. Along with Wesoly, Nikki Borkowski and Baker each scored a 9.800 for season-highs to tie for fourth while Kyla Gamble picked up a season-best with 9.750.
- The Black & Gold picked up three of the best five on the beam. Mary Elle Arduino and Emerson Hurst each had a third-place finish at 9.800, a season-best for Arduino, while Brittney Ranti took fifth on a season-best 9.750.
- Four of the top seven performers in the floor exercise donned the Towson uniform. Melissa Temkov tied a season-high on a score of 9.725, tying with teammate Baker for fourth-place. Leah Smith also had a season-best at 9.700, equaling Arudino for sixth.

Towson will head to Piscataway, New Jersey for a quad-meet on Friday, March 8
th at 7 p.m., taking on Centenary College, Bridgeport and tournament host Rutgers.
