Riggins Leads Towson At Troy Invitational

TROY, Al. – Christina Riggins helped the Towson University women's track and field team begin its outdoor season on the right foot by winning the long jump during the Doc Anderson Invitational Friday night.
 
How It Happened
  • Towson competed in three of the four events contested.
  • A redshirt freshman, Riggins winning effort of 5.33 meters (18 feet, 1.75 inches) was a collegiate best.
  • Also in the long jump, Naja McAdam and Ani Boghossian-James established personal records.
  • McAdam's top jump was 4.99 meters (16-04.50) while Boghossian-James best effort was 4.98 meters (16-04.25).
  • The Tigers had a pair of top five performances in the hammer throw.
  • Georgia Coleman finished third with a personal best throw of 50.43 meters (165-05).
  • Taylor Giles was fourth in the hammer throw with an effort of 48.08 meters (157-09).
  • Sydney Stith was third in the javelin with a personal best performance of 41.15 meters (135-00).
  • Coleman and Stith's marks were just under ECAC qualifying standards.
  • Towson is one of eight women teams competing in this meet.
