ELON, N.C. - The Towson University track & field team concluded competition at the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Outdoor Championship on Saturday at Elon University.
The Tigers finished third overall with 110 points, marking the program's best outdoor championship finish since 2022 and was supported by eight All-CAA performances. Hampton claimed second place with 140 points, while host Elon captured its second consecutive CAA Outdoor Championship title with 193 points.
"Saw some really promising opportunities to grow", stated head coach Consandria Walker-Hall. "Bright future ahead with this group. I'm excited to see what the future holds."
Heptathlon
Senior Leeann Redlo finished in third place overall after seven scored events in the heptathlon with a total of 4,816 points. Freshman Desirae Hernandez finished in fifth place in her CAA Outdoor Championship collegiate debut with 4,648 points.
In the long jump, Hernandez finished in second place after clearing 5.40m. Redlo followed in sixth with a 5.27m mark.
Hernandez placed tenth overall in the javelin throw with a 20.63m mark, followed by Redlo in 11th with a mark of 18.18m.
Hernandez grabbed another top 3 finish in shot put, finishing in third with an 11.02m mark. Redlo finished in sixth, tossing 9.83m.
The duo also finished beside each other in the 800m, with Hernandez taking seventh (2:34.04) and Redlo placing eighth (2:35.15).
Field Events
In the high jump, Redlo placed first overall after clearing 1.76m. Freshman Sierra Swangin placed eighth with a 1.66m mark.
In shot put, Olamide Enajekpo secured a third-place finish with a 14.66m toss. Enajekpo additionally finished in eighth in the discus with a mark of 45.60m.
In the triple jump, senior Kiara Murray placed second overall with a 12.47m jump.
Track Events
In the 4x100m, the combined relay team of Kadidja Ouattara, Bianca Durant, Stella Anani and Brianna Easley posted a time of 45.12 to finish third overall.
In the 100m hurdles finals, Redlo clocked 14.16 to place sixth.
Three Tigers contributed points to Towson in the 400m finals: Mydison Britton (third, 54.854), Qiora Rollins (fourth, 54.858) and Jasmine Scott (eighth, 56.36).
Ouattara placed sixth in the 100m finals with a time of 12.04.
In the 800m finals, junior Baara Stewart won the event with a time of 2:05.31, setting a meet record. Senior Layla James placed seventh with a time of 2:11.11.
In the 200m finals, freshman Brianna Easley (24.28) and Jaylynn Dorsey (24.34) placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
In the 4x400m, the relay team of Britton, Ouattara, Stewart and Rollins finished second overall with a combined time of 3:39.99.

Athletes ranked in the top 48 in individual events and the top 24 declared relay teams in the East Region will qualify for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminaries. The first round will be contested at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky from May 27-30.
