Gymnastics Hosts Four Teams on Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. Five seniors will be honored as the Towson University women's gymnastics' team host five teams on Sunday afternoon. The meet will take place inside SECU Arena at 2 p.m.

Meet the Seniors
Mary Elle Arduino, Cortni Baker, Amanda Pratt, Brittney Ranti and Erin Tucker will be honored after the meet during the awards presentation.

Each senior has left a message for the team and fans and look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

From Arduino: "You girls have become my family away from home and you have no idea how much I'll miss being a part of this family. Thank you for memories that'll last a lifetime, I love you all."

From Baker: "Thank you all for being a part of the best four years of my life. I can't even explain how proud I am of each and every one of you and I am going to miss you all more than you know. I love you guys so much, peace out homies!!!!"

From Pratt: "I love you all so much and thank you for making this experience unforgettable."

From Ranti: "Realize no one knows what you've been through to get to where you are."

From Tucker: "I love each and everyone one of you, thanks so much for the greatest four years of my life."

Promotions
Sunday's meet will also be alumni night and 22 alum from various years will come back to the arena and be recognized.

Groups in attendance are also welcome to stay after the meet for signed posters and autographs on the concourse.

Last Time Out
Towson finished with a team score of 192.800.  Tournament host Rutgers took first at 194.425, edging out Bridgeport's 194.125.  Towson scored higher than Centenary, which concluded at 192.000.

Emerson Hurst had a top performance and career-high on beam with a score of 9.925. Ally Wesoly finished fourth in the all-around, taking top-four in the meet in the uneven bars and the vault.  Baker and Arduino tied for fifth overall in the floor exercise.

In the uneven bars, the two Tigers came just .025 away from their season-high: Wesoly notched a Towson-best 9.825 while Tess Zientek got a 9.775.  Ranti earned her season-high with a 9.700, helping the team score of 48.600.

Leading Towson in the vault was Wesoly at 9.775, followed by Baker getting a 9.725.

Tigers in the Top Ten
Three Tigers currently hold places in the top-ten of the 2019 East Athletic Gymnastics League season.

Hurst is tied for third on the balance beam with a NQS of 9.840 and a season high of 9.925.

Arduino is currently eighth on the balance beam with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.825, having a high score of 9.875.

Wesoly is fifth on the all-around with an NQS of 38.815, having a high of 39.050. She is also sixth on the uneven bars with an NQS of 9.805 and a high score of 9.850.

Amplitude the Awards
Hurst was named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Co-Rookie of the week this past Tuesday. She earned the honor after her stellar career-high performance on beam at Rutgers. This was her second time receiving this award this season.

Tigers in the Community
•Towson is the Division I national champion of the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition for the Fall 2018 semester. Towson completed the most community service hours among all schools in the competition, including 75 different Division I departments and approximately 300 total programs across the country.

•The Tigers have been chaperones at a clinic in Pennsylvania as well as helping with the High Performance Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 13 inside the Towson Center.

•The Tigers also host a kid's night out each semester.

•Throughout the semester, the team will have local schools visit to talk about setting goals.

Scouting the Teams
Maryland
The Terps come off a season best performance 196.525 last week at home led by sophomore all-arounder Audrey Barber (39.425).

Barber earned a career-best 9.900 on beam to share the title with sophomore Emilie LeBlanc who earn her own career best in the event. Sophomore Sabriyya Rouse earned a career best in the event (9.875).

Pittsburgh
Pitt faced three Top 25 opponents in a quad meet Sunday afternoon at the University of Denver.

The Panthers finished fourth with a score of 194.200, behind No. 6 Denver (197.675), No. 18 Nebraska (196.225) and No. 21 Arizona State (194.825).

Junior Deven Herbine earned two career-high scores on the day, with a 9.800 on beam and a 9.700 on floor. Freshman Olivia Miller placed fifth in the all-around competition with a score of 38.425.

University of New Hampshire
Danielle Mulligan equaled the highest uneven-bar score in program history (9.950) to help the Wildcats set their season high with a 196.175 in a dual-meet victory over Yale (194.950) on Friday, March 8.

Nicole O'Leary topped the podium on vault (9.800) and tied a personal best on floor exercise (9.875) to share first place in that event.

George Washington
The Colonials posted a season-high 48.975 on vault and earned their third score above 49.000 on floor with a 49.050 to finish second in quad-meet action at NC State on Saturday.

Cydney Crasa earned a 9.850 and Chloe Vitoff scoring a 9.775 on vault. Alex Zois also earned a 9.850 to lead the squad with Crasa and finish in a tie for third on the podium, while Anna Warhol added a 9.800. Olivia Zona and Julia McLaughlin contributed matching 9.700s to add to GW's season-high score.

Up Next
Towson will head to Durham, New Hampshire on March 23 for the 2019 EAGL Championships. The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
