Towson, Md. – Highlighted by an
Ally Wesoly first-place finish on bars, Towson University women's gymnastics team saw a fourth-place overall finish on senior day.
The Tigers hosted University of Maryland who finished first with a final score of 196.450, George Washington who came in second with a final score of 196.025, University of New Hampshire finished in third with a final score of 195.050 and in last was Pittsburgh with a final score of 193.850.
Towson had scores of 48.175 on vault, 48.725 on bars, 48.375 on beam and 48.725 on floor to give them a final score of 194.000.
How it Happened
- Wesoly scored a 9.875 on the uneven parallel bars. She also finished third in the all-around with a score of 39.050.
- Teammates Jaz Kauffman scored a 9.750 and Tess Zientek scored a 9.725 on bars.
- Emerson Hurst tied for second on beam with a score of 9.875. Wesoly had a score of 9.775.
- Cortni Baker saw a top-ten finish on vault with a score of 9.800 tying a season-high.
- The Tigers had two top-ten finishes in the floor routine with Baker tying for fourth with a score of 9.850. Melissa Temkov had a season-high score of 9.800.
- Mary Elle Arduino and Wesoly both finished with scores of 9.750 on floor.
Up Next
Towson will head to Durham, New Hampshire on March 23 for the 2019 EAGL Championships. The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
