DURHAM, N.H. –
Mary Elle Arduino finished in first on beam as the Towson University women's gymnastics team wrapped up the season at the East Atlantic Gymnastic League (EAGL) Championships.
Arduino had a season-high score of 9.9 as the Tigers finished with a final score of 193.450 at the meet.
Towson earned scores of 48.450 on vault, 47.950 on bars, 48.125 on beam and 48.925 on floor to earn a sixth-place finish in the meet. Host team University of New Hampshire finished in first with a final score of 195.950, George Washington (195.825) finished in second, North Carolina State (195.275) came in third, Pittsburgh (194.900) came in fourth and North Carolina (193.950) finished in fifth.
How it Happend
- Ally Wesoly tied for ninth-place on vault with a score of 9.775. Cortni Baker finished with a score of 9.750. Nikki Borkowski finished with a score of 9.700.
- Baker and teammate Tess Zientek tied with a score of 9.750 on the uneven parallel bars.
- Emerson Hurst tied for sixth-place on beam with a score of 9.825. Wesoly had a score of 9.725 on beam.
- Melissa Temkov tied for 10th on floor with a season-high score of 9.825 on floor. Baker earned a scorer of 9.8 while Zientek and Arduino tied with scores of 9.775. Wesoly finished with a score of 9.750.
- In the all-around Wesoly finished with a score of 38.425.
All-Tournament Teams
At the end of the meet EAGL announced who was named to the All-Tournament Teams.
First Team All-Tournament on each event and in all-around lists the top-8 ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the Championship meet. Second Team All-Tournament on each event and in all-around lists No. 9 – No. 16 ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the Championship meet.
Overall Towson saw five student-athletes make the first or second All-Tournament Teams.
Arduino ranked first on the First All-Tournament team for beam with her score of 9.9. Hurst also made the team with her score of 9.825.
Wesoly made the First All-Tournament team in the all-around with her score of 38.425.
Wesoly (9.775) and Baker (9.750) earned spots on the Second All-Tournament team for vault.
Baker (9.750) and Zeintek (9.750) earned spots on the Second All-Tournament team for bars.
Temkov (9.825) and Baker (9.800) saw sports on the Second All-Tournament team for floor.
