TOWSON, Md. - Jack Saunderson from the Towson University men's swimming and diving team will travel to Austin, Texas for the NCAA Men's Championship for a third straight year.

The meet will take place at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center March 26-31.

"I'm excited to conclude my college swimming career at NCAAs," said senior Saunderson. "I look forward to representing Towson the best way I can."

Saunderson will first swim in the 200-yard individual medley on Thursday, March 28 with the preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. The finals for each event will start at 6 p.m.

On Friday, Saunderson will swim in the 100-yard butterfly with the preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m.

On Saturday, he will swim in his signature event the 200-yard butterfly beginning with the preliminaries at 10 a.m.

Last year Saunderson also qualified for the 200 fly and finished 10th overall with a time of 1:40.37 which at the time was a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) record. He broke his own record this year at CAA Championships with a time of 1:40.63. He has the fifth-fastest time in the nation.

Saunderson earned All-America Honorable Mention at the 2018 NCAA Championships in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 45.51 and 10th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:40.87.

A total of 270 participants (235 swimmers and 35 divers) will compete in the championships.  Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered.  Divers will be determined by performances achieved at the Zone Diving meets March 11-16.
