TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team travel to Piscataway, N.J. on Friday, March 8 for a 7 p.m. meet inside the Rutgers Athletic Center.
The Tigers will face host team Rutgers University, Centenary College (Louisiana) and University of Bridgeport in a quad-meet.

Last Time Out
Towson put up a team score of 193.900, defeating Bridgeport by a full point of 192.900. SCSU finished at 190.050 last Friday, Feb. 1.
Ally Wesoly finished second in the all-around with a score of 38.525, including a season-high 9.850 on the vault, tying for the top score in the meet in that event. She also tied for first on the bars at 9.800 with teammate
Tess Zientek, who earned a season-high.
Towson had the top-three scores in the bars, adding
Jaz Kauffman, who earned a season-high 9.775 for third.
Cortni Baker also tied a season-high, picking up a 9.750.
The vault saw five Tigers earn season-highs with the team taking three of the top four and four of the top seven. Along with Wesoly,
Nikki Borkowski and Baker each scored a 9.800 for season-highs to tie for fourth while
Kyla Gamble picked up a season-best with 9.750.
Tigers in the Top Ten
Three Tigers currently hold places in the top-ten of the 2019 East Athletic Gymnastics League season.
Mary Elle Arduino is currently seventh on the balance beam with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.825, having a high score of 9.875, while
Emerson Hurst is eighth with an NQS of 9.820 and a high score of 9.875.
Ally Wesoly is fifth on the all-around with an NQS of 38.760, having a high of 39.050. She is also eighth on the uneven bars with an NQS of 9.785 and a high score of 9.850.
Amplitude the Awards
On Wednesday, the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) announced the All-Scholastic Team and all 15 of the Towson University gymnastics team members were selected.
The EAGL All-Scholastic Team honors those that maintained a 3.0 or higher grade point average through the 2018 calendar year. Towson had 15 on the list, making up the entire 2018-19 team.
Tigers in the Community
•Towson is the Division I national champion of the NCAA Team Works Helper Helper Competition for the Fall 2018 semester. Towson completed the most community service hours among all schools in the competition, including 75 different Division I departments and approximately 300 total programs across the country.
•The Tigers have been chaperones at a clinic in Pennsylvania as well as helping with the High Performance Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 13 inside the Towson Center.
•The Tigers also host a kid's night out each semester.
•Throughout the semester, the team will have local schools visit to talk about setting goals.
Scouting the Opponents
Rutgers is coming off a 194.625 last Saturday at New Hampshire. Jenna Rizkalla highlighted the trip to New Hampshire with a 9.900 on both vault and floor exercise, which tied for first-place on those events in the quad meet that also included Brown and North Carolina State. The senior additionally had a 9.750 to lead the team on balance beam in her first meet this season appearing in three lineups.
Centenary College took fourth at the Texas Woman's Quad, finishing with a 190.425 – its highest road score of the season. Freshman Kendall Sanders received a career high total of 38.475 in the all-around, thanks in part to a career best on both vault (9.575) and beam (9.650).
CC finished with a season high of 47.950 on vault, its highest score on the event in two seasons. Junior Cami Bea Austin finished sixth in the event with a career high of 9.800. Senior Tavia Smith added a season best 9.600, while freshman Xian Baumgartner added a big career best with a 9.500.
Bridgeport finished in second last Friday scoring 193.00 against Towson and Southern Connecticut State.
As a team, UB scored 48.775 on the vault, 48.725 on the bars, 48.200 in the floor exercise and 47.200 on the balance beam. Bridgeport freshman Julianna Roland won Friday's all-around title posting a score of 38.800 in the four events, as she tied for first on the vault at 9.850 and was part of a three-way tie for third on the bars with graduate student Kelli Tereshko scoring 9.775.

The Tigers host the senior meet on Sunday, March 17 inside SECU Arena. Towson will honor five seniors that afternoon during the meet that will also play host to George Washington, Maryland, University of Pittsburgh and University of New Hampshire.
