IRVING, Texas – Three members of the Towson University football team have been honored as members of the 2019 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.
Matt Kauffman,
Grant Udinski and
Zane Ventimiglia were recognized for this year's class for their academic achievement.
To qualify, players must have graduated or finished their collegiate football careers with a 3.2 cumulative grade point average as undergraduates and been "starters or significant contributors" throughout the 2018 season.
"We are pleased to see another record number of athletes honored by the Hampshire Honor Society this year," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "For more than a decade, it has become a powerful vehicle for schools to recognize their college football players who have distinguished themselves both academically and athletically, and we congratulate the schools and each of these young men for their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their lives."
All three have earned an academic achievement this season already: Udinski and Ventimiglia were each CoSIDA Academic All-Americans while Kauffman and Ventimiglia were also placed on the FCS ACA Academic All-Star Team.
The society is in its 13
th year in honoring players for this academic achievement, awarding those across all divisions of college football.
