TOWSON, Md. – Towson University softball team will travel to Hempstead, New York for a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) series against Hofstra. The series will begin with an evening doubleheader Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m. inside Bill Edwards Stadium.
Hofstra won the last meeting on May 5, 2019 9-4 in the first round of the CAA Championships.
Towson (21-22, 4-8 CAA) split a mid-week contest verses Villanova on Wednesday, April 17. The Tigers won the first game 2-1 before falling 3-2 in the second game.
Julia Smith-Harrington had home runs in both contests.
The Tigers are led by senior centerfielder
Nicole Stockinger who leads the teams in hits (41), home runs (12) and RBIs (36). She is third in the CAA in runs scored, fourth in the CAA in slugging percentage (.784) and home runs. Smith-Harrington leads the teams in doubles (15) and is second in conference.
Nicole Kidwiler leads the team in triples (three) and is tied for second in the CAA.

Sara Johnson is leading the way with a 9-7 overall record and 110 strikeouts. She is second in the conference in strikeouts and tied for second in striking out batters looking (27).
Scouting Hofstra (18-21, 5-7 CAA)
The Pride are coming off a 16-2 defeat to Fordham on Wednesday afternoon. Hofstra took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second before the Rams controlled the rest of the game.
Freshmen Meghan Giordano is leading the way for the Pride with a .378 batting average, doubles (8) 39 RBIs, and nine home runs. She is tied with Kasey Collins for 42 hits. Kristin Hallam has 46 hits and five doubles.
In the circle, Madison Burns has a 3.69 ERA and an 11-10 overall record. She leads the team in strikeouts (67).
