PRINCETON, N.J. – Michella Obijiaku and
Phontavia Sawyer conquered the windy and rainy elements to win their respective field events. Their sterling performances were highlights for the Towson University women's track and field team during the ECAC Championships at Princeton University's soggy Weaver Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers finished second overall with 73 points. This was Towson's best finish in program history at the ECAC Championships. Albany won the team title with 76 points.
Obijiaku started the day by winning the shot put with a toss of 15.54 meters (51-00.00). Sawyer ended the afternoon by claiming the discus with an effort of 46.28 meters (151-10).
