TOWSON, Md. – Towson University kicker
Aidan O'Neill picked up his second preseason All-America selection on Tuesday, being given that honor by Athlon Sports.
The Athlon Sports' 2019 Preseason FCS All-America Team has only one kicker honored, that being O'Neill. O'Neill was recognized as a preseason All-American by HERO Sports last week.
Entering his senior year in 2019, the New Paltz, New York native earned All-America honors by each the
Associated Press, STATS FCS, AFCA and Walter Camp Foundation last season. He was second in all of FCS with 1.83 field goals per game in 2018, also being seventh with nine points scored per game. 2018 saw O'Neill convert 22 field goals, the single season program record in Towson history.
In his career, he is Towson's all-time leader in field goals with 53, 22 away from tying the all-time FCS record of 75. He was 75.7% on field goal conversion and 97.7% on extra-point tries in 2018, earning All-CAA First Team.
