STATEN ISLAND, NY – Top finishes in the field events highlighted the day for the Towson University indoor track and field team Saturday afternoon.

At the Great Dane Classic hosted by UAlbany, Lauren Coleman won the shot put throwing 15.78m (51'09").  

How it Happened

• Crystal Johnson finished in second in the 60 meter dash finals with a time of 7.55. Teammate Christina Riggins had a personal record coming in third (7.65).
• McKenzie Delahanty set a new personal record in the 5000 mile finishing in fifth with a time of 17:54.15.
• Helnsarah Penda had a finals time of 9.01 in the 60 meter hurdles.
• Paige Keefer finished in 11th in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:06.30.
• Hayley Horvath took second in the pole vault (3.95m 12'11.50"). Teammates Samantha Ronald (3.35m 11'0") and Emily Corso (3.20m 10'06") finished in 11th and 13th, respectively.
• Zellie Charles came in third place in the long jump (5.67m 18'07"). Christina Riggins finished in fifth (5.53m 18'01") while Kelsey Evans finished in eighth (5.40m 17'08").
• Adia Cavalier saw a third place finish in the triple jump (12.03m 39'05").
• Georgia Coleman came in sixth in the shot put (12.45m 40'10.25")
• Coleman also came in second in the weight throw (17.69m 58'00" ). Elisia Lancaster finished in fourth (16.64m 54'07").

Looking Ahead
Towson will be back in action Sunday, Jan. 19 as they host the Towson Tiger Invitational in New York. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Armory.
