TOWSON, Md. – A quad meet takes place for the Towson University gymnastics team as they host its first home meet of the 2020 season. On Friday, Jan. 17 the Tigers welcome Cornell, West Chester and William Mary to SECU Arena.
The meet will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening an hour prior to the meet.

Marketing Promotions/Tickets
The theme for this meet is "Own Your Roar," an initiative started by senior
Olivia Lubarsky. "Own Your Roar" is an awareness program created to encourage students and student-athletes to advocate for their own mental health.
The Tigers will be giving away stress balls to fans.
During the meet fans will also have the opportunity to enjoy a coloring station and take photos with the gymnastics cutouts on the concourse. After the meet, there will be a chance to get autographs by the Tigers.

- Friday, Feb. 7 vs. UNC (Pink Meet)
- Friday, March 6 vs. George Washington and Maryland (George McGinty Alumni Meet)
- Sunday, March 15 vs Southern Connecticut (Senior Day)

Last Time Out
The Tigers defeated Penn 192.650-191.925 on Sunday, Jan. 12 in the Palestra.
Emerson Hurst led the way for the Tigers on vault and beam finishing with scores of 9.750 and 9.725, respectively.
Tess Zientek scored a 9.775 finishing in first place on bars.
Lauren Bolen placed second in the all-around scoring 38.375.
Scouting Cornell
The Big Red open their season with Towson. Last season Cornell finished the USAG in the Semifinals and two gymnasts compete in the USAG Finals.
Scouting West Chester
The Golden Rams finished in third place in the Boston Invitational scoring 193.25.
Jessica Meakim tied for first on the floor exercise with a 9.825 while McKenna Kissinger logged a career-high 9.65 on vault.
Scouting William & Mary
William & Mary opened its season with a 194.775-190.425 setback at North Carolina. The Tribe scored 48.325 on vault, 47.675.
Katie Waldman placed second in all-around (38.225) and on beam (9.800, career high), while she finished third on vault (9.800). Freshman Brianna Greenlow placed third in all-around (38.175) and on beam (9.750).
Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
