TOWSON, Md. With the highest score in home opener history, the Towson University gymnastics team finished first in a quad meet Friday evening. In SECU Arena, the Tigers finished with a final score of 194.725 defeating William & Mary (192.150), West Chester (191.400) and Cornell (186.750).
The Tigers had a running score of 48.600 (vault), 48.650 (bars), 48.700 (beam) and 48.7555 (floor).
How it happened
- On Rotation one, the Tigers saw three tigers (Lauren Bolen, Camille Vitoff and Ally Wesoly) tie with a 9.750.
- On bars, Tess Zientek finished with a season high 9.825 coming in first place. Vitoff scored a 9.800, finishing in second.
- Ally Wesoly tied for second on beam scoring a 9.800. Bolen and Melissa Temkov finished with a 9.750.
- It was a one-two finish on floor as the Tigers saw Temkov and Paige Casper finished with a 9.800 and 9.775, respectively. Nikki Borkowski tied for fourth scoring 9.750. Bolen and Leah Smith tied for sixth place after scoring a 9.725.
- Bolen came in second place in the all-around scoring 38.900 after finishing with scores of 9.700 (vault), 9.700 (bars), 9.725 (beam) and 9.775 (floor).
