TOWSON, Md. – This week's Student-Athlete Spotlight features Towson University swimmer Matt Essing. 
 
The school record holder in the 50-yard freestyle, Essing will graduate in May with an Economics degree. The following month he will join teammate Jackie Schoening and 2019 Towson graduate Jack Saunderson at the United States Olympic Trials.

Essing and 13 other senior swimmers and divers will be honored before Friday's final home meet versus Delaware at Burdick Pool. The diving portion of the meet begins at 2 p.m. with the first swim event scheduled at 5 p.m.
