Tiger Talk: Pat Skerry and Demetrius Mims

TOWSON, Md. – This week's Tiger Talk, Spiro Morekas, the voice of the Towson Tigers since 1991-92, sits down with Towson men's basketball coach Pat Skerry and redshirt sophomore Demetrius Mims.

Now in his 10th season as the Tigers head coach, Skerry took over a program that had endured 15 consecutive losing seasons. Towson enters the 2020-21 season having won at least 18 games in six of the last eight years, including 2019-20. In 2015-16 and 2016-17, Towson finished with at least 20 wins, only the second time in school history that Towson has won 20 games in consecutive seasons.  Towson's 25-win year in 2013-14 was the highest amount of victories in a season in the Division I era and most since 1977-78.

Mims, a Baltimore native, sat out last season after transferring from Long Beach State where he played as a freshman. The all-time leading scorer at Poly, Mims led the Engineers to consecutive 3A state championships his final two seasons and a two-time First Team All-Metro selection.
