TOWSON, Md. – Starting in the 2021 season, the Towson University women's lacrosse team will be playing in the newly-renovated Tiger Field.
Tiger women's lacrosse and women's soccer will each play at a field that saw multiple upgrades in 2020. A new grandstand and press box were completed at the field plus the complex also will have restrooms and concession stands.
"The newly renovated Tiger Field is a perfect facility to showcase our women's lacrosse team," said Towson women's lacrosse coach Sonia LaMonica. "It will provide an exciting and intimate game day atmosphere for our players and fans alike. I can visualize fans filling the stands, as well as the hill overlooking the field. This will be a great new home for Towson women's lacrosse."
The facility also has all-new lighting, allowing for night games and practices for teams. The lights include the MUSCO Show-Light package for programmed light shows and effects.
Tiger Field is part of the Lower Fields Complex, which also includes a practice facility for several Tiger teams. The complex has two full-field artificial turf surfaces, one being Tiger Field, and a third practice field. The complex is part of the latest facility enhancement project at Towson University.
Towson women's lacrosse has won seven Colonial Athletic Association tournament titles since 2005, including four under LaMonica. In the past 10 seasons with LaMonica at the helm, Towson has won 109 games and earned spots in the NCAA Tournament six times.
