TOWSON, Md. – A three-game homestand continues tomorrow for the Towson University women's basketball team as the Tigers host cross-town opponent Morgan State at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Towson is coming off a momentous evening on Friday, taking down Salem 113-63 and setting a program single-game scoring record. This was Towson's second-straight game scoring 100 or more points which has never been done in program history. The Tigers had seven players in double figures, three who scored 17 points to lead the way.
Kionna Jeter,
Allie Kubek and
Aleah Nelson all dropped 17 while Kubek notched her second career double-double with 10 rebounds. Towson went up by as many as 57 points against Salem during the stretch, the road team was only in reach of tying the game up or taking the lead in the first period.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The redshirt-senior guard, Jeter, leads the Tigers with 24 points per game, and four of her teammates are averaging double figures as well.
Shavonne Smith is posting 15.2 points a night, Nelson is averaging 14.2, Kubek is scoring 13.4 and
Narrie Dodson who made her debut last night scored 12 points. Nelson leads the team in assists with 6.2 assists per game while Kubek leads the team on the glass with 7.6 rebounds a night. Towson enters the game with a 4-1 record, holding a loss to No. 14 Maryland on the road.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Morgan State enters the game with a 3-0 record, coming off a victory over Navy on Friday, 67-63. Leading the Bears' is Ja'Niah Henson with 15.3 points per game while Ashia McCalla is posting 14 and Dahnye Redd is scoring 14 as well. Redd is pacing Morgan on the glass with 10.5 rebounds per game and Henson has the team lead in assists with 4.3 per game. This season the Bears have faced UMBC and Saint Peter's along with Navy, scoring a season-high of 67 points twice. Morgan State has a season shooting percentage of 44.6 percent from the field and 68.3 from the free throw line, and averages 31.7 rebounds per game. Before the season began, the Bears were selected to finish second in the MEAC Northern Division Preseason Poll.
THE MORGAN STATE SERIES (15-10)
Towson and Morgan State haven't faced off in women's hoops since the 2013-14 season. The Tigers lead the series 15-10 and have won two of the last three meetings. The last meeting came on Dec. 18, 2013 at the Bears' gym and Towson lost 69-63.
LAST TIME AGAINST MORGAN STATE
Senior guard Tanisha McTiller led the Tigers with 20 points and 12 rebounds in the loss as the Tigers and Bears went back and forth the entire game. Towson opened the second half on a 10-5 run, leading 40-29 with 14:37 to play. Morgan State responded with holding the Tigers scoreless for almost six minutes, going on an 18-0 run and taking a six-point lead. With less than five minutes on the clock, the Bears took the lead 58-50. Towson came back with a 5-0 run and cut the lead before the home team went up 62-55. The Black and Gold scored eight points in the final 46 seconds and cut the lead again, but Morgan State went 7-of-8 at the free throw line and sealed the win.
TIGERS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
Kionna Jeter continues to hold a spot in the top-15 scorers in the nation, she is currently tied for 14th nationally in points per game with 24 on average, and also 14th in field goals made.
Aleah Nelson is 10th in total assists this season with 31 and 13th in assists per game with her 6.2 on average. Rookie
Allie Kubek finds herself ranked 25th nationally in field goal percentage, shooting 63.8 percent, and 35th in double doubles with two. As a team, Towson is third in the nation in points per game, averaging 96.6 a game, and tied for fourth in offensive rebounds per game with 20 on average.
CAA STAT LEADERS
Towson is leading the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in scoring and second in point margin. The Tigers also lead the conference in blocked shots, offensive rebounds and field goal percentage.
Aleah Nelson is first in the league in assists, and eighth in scoring while
Kionna Jeter is second in scoring, eighth in steals and eighth in field goal percentage.
Allie Kubek is seventh in the CAA in rebounding and leads the conference in field goal percentage.
Shavonne Smith appears as well; she is sixth in the league in scoring and third in field goal percentage.
LaKaitlin Wright and
Bianca Glover are seventh and eighth, respectively, in the CAA in blocked shots.
JETER'S STORY CONTINUES
After Friday's game,
Kionna Jeter has 1,218 career points, moving her to ninth in program history. With the remaining schedule still on the table she has an opportunity to move up through the top-10 list each game. The Spartanburg, South Carolina native now has 198 career steals, taking the No. 10 spot in the record book. Her marks on the Towson women's basketball historic records are far from over.
NON-CONFERENCE WRAPPING UP
As the holiday break approaches so does the final game of the non-conference schedule for the regular season. Tuesday afternoon the Tigers will host Saint Francis at 2 p.m. and then will have some time off before opening the CAA slate against James Madison, on Sunday, Jan. 3 in Harrisonburg.
