Towson Men's Basketball Team Captain Gray to Miss the Rest of 2020-21 Season

TOWSON, Md. – Juwan Gray, team captain for the Towson University men's basketball team, will miss the rest of the 2020-21 season due to injury.

Gray, who was named the team's lone captain for the campaign, suffered a torn Achilles towards the end of the Coppin State game and will miss the rest of the year.

"We are all feeling for Juwan right now," said Towson head coach Pat Skerry.  "Not only is he a good player, he is a great teammate and outstanding ambassador for this program.  We and his teammates wish him a speedy recovery; no one around the program has anything but first-class things to say about Juwan."

Gray played in all five games with four starts for Towson at forward, averaging 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds a contest, including double digit scoring contests in each of his last two games.  He nearly had a double-double vs. Coppin State off 12 points and nine rebounds.

Including his time in San Diego, the Dover, Delaware native has played in 94 career games in college with 629 career points and 414 career rebounds.  He earned his undergraduate degree here at Towson plus he is on the executive board of the Towson Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as the assistant VP for communications.
