TOWSON, Md. – This weekend the Towson University women's basketball team will host Delaware and Drexel in the final home weekend of the regular season.
Delaware comes to town on Friday night with a 7 p.m. start and the Black Student Athlete Celebration honor. Sunday will be the final home game of the regular season with another rematch of last year's Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship game against Drexel. Senior Day is also on Sunday, tip is set for 2 p.m. at SECU Arena.

Last Time Out
The Tigers are coming off a split weekend with a win over Hofstra last Friday before falling at Northeastern on Sunday afternoon. In Boston, Towson started with a 13-0 deficit before ending the first quarter down 16-10. Paced by
Kionna Jeter with 25 points, the Tigers played catch up the entire game. Towson finally took the lead and had it for three minutes but the Huskies shot late free throws to regain and extend the lead.
Nukiya Mayo dropped 12 and
LaKaitlin Wright had a team-high 11 rebounds.
Scouting the Tigers
Towson enters the week with a 13-12 mark overall and is 8-6 in conference play.
Kionna Jeter continues to lead the offense with 18.8 points per game while
Nukiya Mayo is averaging 15.9.
Q. Murray rounds out the double-figure scorers with 11.2 points a night and leads the team in assists with 5.2 per game. Mayo leads the team on the glass, averaging 7.9 rebounds a game and Jeter has a team-high 79 steals for an average of 3.2 per game. The Tigers have secured season sweeps over UNCW, Charleston and Hofstra so far. Towson's next four opponents have already been losses this season.
Scouting The Blue Hens
Entering the week Delaware is 10-15 with a 6-8 mark in CAA action. Leading the offense is Nicole Enabosi with an average of 16.6 points per game while Jasmine Dickey is averaging 12.8. Dickey paces the Blue Hens in rebounds with 9.2 on average. Delaware is coming off a 78-60 loss at William & Mary on Sunday. In conference action this year, the Blue Hens have defeated Elon, Hofstra, Northeastern and Towson. Delaware has won four of its last six games and is 5-8 on the road this year.
The Delaware Series
Friday will be the 80
th meeting between Towson and Delaware. Delaware leads the series 56-23 and has won two of the last four meetings. In Towson the Blue Hens have a 24-12 advantage. Earlier this season the Tigers traveled to Newark, falling 69-62. Last year in SECU Arena, Delaware came out with a 70-57 victory in the last weekend of the regular season.
Scouting the Dragons
Drexel is coming in this week on a 13-game winning streak. The Dragons are 20-6 overall and 13-1 in conference play, holding on to first place. Before coming to Towson on Sunday, Drexel will take on James Madison on Friday night on the road. Bailey Greenberg leads the offense with 17.7 points per game while also leading the team in rebounds with an average of 5.8. Aubree Brown paces the offense with 5.0 assists a night. Drexel's only conference loss this season is to the College of Charleston in the first game of CAA play. The Dragons have also lost to Penn, Bucknell, Buffalo, Pacific and DePaul.
The Drexel Series
Sunday will also be the 80th meeting between Towson and Drexel. This series has become a hot contest, after last season when Towson defeated the Dragons on a buzzer-beater to start conference play, Drexel then came to SECU Arena and took a 33-point win in the final game of the regular season. The Tigers then defeated the Dragons in the CAA title game last March. In January Towson traveled to Philadelphia and fell 59-50 to Drexel. Overall Drexel leads the series 57-21 and is 21-13 in Towson.
A Look at the CAA
The end of the regular season is nearing. CAA standings are crucial and change after every game. Currently the CAA rankings are as follows: No. 1 Drexel, No. 2 James Madison, No. 3 William & Mary, No. 4 Towson, No. 5 Northeastern, No. 6 Elon, No. 7 Delaware, No. 8 Charleston, No. 9 UNCW, No. 10 Hofstra. After this weekend the map will be more clear on what tiebreakers need to happen, Towson is holding on to the No. 4 spot alone, Northeastern sits at No. 5 with an 8-7 record in conference action.

Q. Murray became the 19th player in Towson women's basketball history to score 1,000 points. She has points from previous stops at George Mason and Appalachian State. While at Towson for two seasons she has scored 560 points. Murray is the third player under head coach
Diane Richardson's tenure at Towson to reach the mark, the third player this season to do so.

Kionna Jeter is currently second in the CAA in scoring (18.8 ppg) while
Nukiya Mayo holds sixth (15.7) the duo are averaging 34.1 points per game together, the second-best scoring partners in the conference. The scoring tandem also appear in the rebounding top-10, Mayo sixth (7.8 rpg) and Jeter seventh (7.0 rpg).
Q. Murray leads the conference in the conference in assists (5.0 per game) and is second in assist/turnover ratio (2.1). Mayo is ranked for a third time in blocked shots, she is third in the CAA (1.5 bpg) and
Ryan Holder is second (1.4 bpg). Jeter leads the league in steals (3.3 spg).

Kionna Jeter reached a peak in the top-10 of scorers nationally. She is currently 28th in points per game (18.8) as of Feb. 27. She is also 10th in steals per game (3.16 avg.) and 15th in steals (79).
Q. Murray holds it down on the assist category, she is currently 29th in assists per game (5.2), 53rd in assist/turnover ratio (2.02) and 44th in assists (129).
Nukiya Mayo is currently 43rd nationally in double-doubles with 10 this season.

Tigers In The Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area. For the seventh consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season. Towson ranked No. 1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition. Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations. Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
