TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University gymnastics team spends another weekend on the road for a quad-meet hosted by Penn State.
The Tigers will travel to University Park, Pennsylvania to also compete against Cornell and North Carolina State on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 4 p.m. inside Rec Hall.

Last Time Out
Towson got the highest team beam score (48.825) during a quad-meet last weekend against West Virginia, Western Michigan and Bowling Green. The Tigers finished with a final score of 193.425.
Camille Vitoff tied her season-high on vault (9.800) and
Ally Wesoly had four season-high scores on vault (9.7750), bars (9.800), beam (9.850) and all-around (39.150).
Scouting Cornell
The floor gymnasts led the Cornell gymnastics team with a first place finish (49.1) at the Ivy Classic, Sunday, Feb. 23.
The Big Red totaled a 192.975 overall to finish close behind third-place Brown (193.050).
Cornell placed all six gymnasts in the top six on floor. Senior Evelyn Patient finished with a 9.6 for sixth place overall on the bars
Scouting North Carolina State
The Wolfpack comes off a pair of 196.000 or higher scores after competing on Feb. 21 and Feb. 23.
NC State recorded a season-best 196.500 in a home meet with William & Mary and Centenary on Feb. 21 and followed the season-high performance with a 196.025 at George Washington with Northern Illinois and Temple on Feb. 23.
Senior Drew Grantham earned two 9.925 scores on floor over the weekend, tying her career high and securing first-place finishes in the event at both meets. The Durham, N.C. native was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week on Feb. 25.
Freshman Emily Shepard additionally garnered EAGL Rookie of the Week on Feb. 25 after a career-high bars performance (9.875) on Feb. 21 and multiple podium finishes between the Wolfpack's two meets.
Scouting No. 23 Penn State
Penn State women's gymnastics team tallied a 196.125 on last Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Big Five Meet in Toledo. The Nittany Lions earned a season-high 49.300 on vault and a 49.250 on both bars and floor. Penn State set or tied seven career highs and recorded four 9.900 scores
Freshman Cassidy Rushlow earned a career-high 39.300 in all-around, while tallying PSU's highest score on beam (9.875) and tying junior Alissa Bonsall for the team's highest score on vault (9.900), a career high for both. Junior Lauren Bridgens claimed PSU's top score on bars with a season-high 9.925. She matched sophomore Melissa Astarita for the Nittany Lions' top score on floor (9.900), tying a career high for Astarita.

- Ally Wesoly is tied for 14th on vault (9.735 NQS., 9.721 avg.) and ranked 10th on bars (9.760 NQS., 9.750 avg).
- Lauren Bolen is tied for 17th on vault (9.715 NQS., 9.714 high), and 23rd on bars (9.550 NQS, 9.489 avg).
- Amy Stewart is ranked 21st on bars with an NQS score of 9.615 and average of 9.658.
- Emerson Hurst is tied for 16th on beam with an NQS score of 9.725 and average of 9.750. She is tied for 17th on vault (9.715 avg., 9.725 high).
- Tess Zientek is tied for 13th on bars with an NQS of 9.760, 9.714 average.
- Nikki Borkowski is ranked 24th on vault with an NQS of 9.665, 9.664 average.
- Camille Vitoff is ranked 14th on vault with an NQS of 9.735 and 9.729 average.
- Paige Casper is ranked 24th on beam with a 9.545 NQS, 9.550 average. She is ranked 17th on floor (9.730 NQS, 9.736 average).
Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities, and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
