BOSTON – The Towson University men's basketball team concludes its regular season against Northeastern in a nationally-televised clash on CBS Sports Network with Scott Graham and Donny Marshall on the call.

This will be Towson's third game this season on CBS Sports Network.

Founded in 1630 by English Puritans, Boston is a 49-square mile seaside hub full of history and importance that's the most compact major city in America. Boston is smaller than the Denver International Airport, which is 54 square miles.

However, the only geographical point of interest for the Tigers is historic Matthews Arena, the world's oldest ice hockey facility that once served as the home of the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. The Tigers are more concerned about the present, which will be a tough matchup against a very good Northeastern squad that's won four of the last five meetings and is better than its overall record.

Several Tigers have Boston roots including head coach Pat Skerry, associate head coach Kevin Clark and student-athletes Jakigh Dottin and Nicolas Timberlake. It's always a great time when the Tigers visit Boston. Regardless of what's at stake for seeding for the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament, this is strictly a business trip.

Starting Five
  • Towson's last win at Matthews Arena was a 79-72 decision on Jan. 23, 2016.
  • The Tigers haven't scored 60 or more points in their last two games against the Huskies.
  • Towson will be the No. 3 seed in the CAA tournament with a win or a Charleston loss.
  • The Tigers are the No. 4 seed with a loss and a Charleston victory.
  • Northeastern will be the No. 5 seed in the CAA tournament with a win and a Charleston loss.
  • Both teams enter Sunday's contest having won of their last five games.

Towson Update

  • The Tigers have won six CAA road games for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
  • Towson has never won seven CAA road games in a single season.
  • The Tigers lead the CAA in scoring defense (66.3), field goal percentage defense (40.4) and rebounding margin (+5.7).
  • Allen Betrand and Brian Fobbs have scored the same amount of points in 17 CAA contests with 277 each (16.3 points per game).
  • The Tigers beat Hofstra, 76-65, on Thursday night behind 24 offensive rebounds and 18 assists.
  • Jakigh Dottin had a career best eight rebounds against Hofstra.
  • The Tigers are averaging 17.5 assists in their last two games.
  • With 18 wins, it's the sixth time in nine years under Skerry that the Tigers have won at least that many games.
  • The Tigers have had at least 16 assists in a game seven times this season. Towson is 7-0 in those games.
  • Towson has held five of its last six opponents below 40 percent shooting.
  • Towson has the 10th best win improvement in nation this season.
  • Towson has had 21 games in which its enjoyed a scoring run of at least nine straight points.

A Look At Northeastern
  • Guilien Smith scored a game-high 20 points and Shaquille Walters tallied 15 points and a career-high six assists to lead Northeastern past James Madison, 77-57, on Thursday night.
  • The Huskies never trailed in the game and improved to 10-0 this season when shooting at least 50 percent (30-for-60) from the floor.
  • Northeastern has been led all season by CAA leading scorer Jordan Roland's 22.7 point per game average.
  • Northeastern is 20-6 over its last 26 CAA games inside Matthews Arena.

  • Northeastern leads the country in free-throw percentage (80.1).
  • In addition to free-throw percentage, Northeastern leads the CAA in 3-point field goal percentage (36.8), steals (8.0) and rebound defense (29.8).
