TOWSON Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team hosts a tri-meet for the George McGinty Alumni Meet on Friday, March 6 inside of SECU Arena.
The Tigers welcome George Washington University and the University of Maryland for a 7 p.m. meet.

Marketing Promotions/Tickets
The theme for this meet is the George McGinty Alumni Meet. George McGinty served as Towson's first women's gymnastics coach, directing his 1968-69 Tiger squad to a national championship. Towson will be awarding a deserving athlete at the conclusion of this meet with the first annual George McGinty Award in honor of Towson's great coach.
During the meet fans will also have the opportunity to enjoy a coloring station and take photos with the gymnastics cutouts on the concourse. After the meet, there will be a chance to get autographs by the Tigers.

Last Time Out
The Tigers competed in a quad-meet at Penn State University where they fell to Penn State (193.750-196.575) and North Carolina State University (193.750-195.850). The Tigers defeated Cornell University (193.750-190.750).
Ally Wesoly finished with a new season-high of 9.775 on the uneven bars.
Camille Vitoff tied for third place on vault with a new season-high of 9.825.
Jenna Weitz tied her season-high score on beam (9.750).
Scouting the Colonials
The Colonials last competed on Friday, January 28 in a dual meet against the Tarheels of the University of North Carolina where they placed in second (196.325-195.550). Collectively, they scored 48.625 on vault, 48.950 on bars, 48.900 on beam, and 49.025 on floor. This is the third time this season where the Colonials have scored over 195.000.
Deja Chambliss placed first in the all-around with a score of 39.025 and matched her career-high on vault (9.875). Rachel Kaplan and Simone Banen both placed first in bars with matching scores of 9.825.
Scouting the Terrapins
The Terrapins defeated Temple University (196.975-194.100), University of Pennsylvania (196.975-193.275), William and Mary (196.975-193.900), and Yale University (196.975-194.375) in their Senior Day meet.
Tiara Wright surpassed her career-high on bars with a score of 9.950, tying the highest bar score in Maryland Gymnastics history. Reese McClure set a career-high on vault with a score of 9.900 with a perfect stick. Sabriyya Rouse reached a season-best on beam with a score of 9.850.

- Ally Wesoly is 18th on vault (9.735 NQS., 9.709 avg.) and tied for 12th on bars (9.770 NQS., 9.753 avg).
- Lauren Bolen is ranked 19th on vault (9.730 NQS., 9.722 high) and tied for 25th on beam (9.710 NQS, 9.694 avg).
- Emerson Hurst is ranked 20th on beam (9.755 NQS ., 9.764 avg.) and tied for 22nd on vault (9.715 NSQ., 9.661 avg).
- Tess Zientek is ranked 19th on bars with an NQS of 9.730, 9.712 average.
- Nikki Borkowski is ranked 25th on floor with an NQS of 9.675, 9.659 average.
- Camille Vitoff is ranked 14th on vault with an NQS of 9.760 and 9.741 average.
Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
