WASHINGTON DC. – The Towson University gymnastics team travels to George Washington to compete in a five-team meet on Sunday, March 8 inside of the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Colonials welcome Towson University, Yale University, University of Maryland, and the College of William and Mary for a 1 p.m. meet.

Last Time Out
With a record crowd of 1,029 since 2004, the Towson University gymnastics team finished second with a score of 195.675 during the George McGinty Alumni Meet Friday evening.
Towson hosted Maryland (196.350) and George Washington (195.500) inside SECU Arena. Towson's team score is ranked top-ten in Towson history.
The Tigers also saw career and season-high scores on beam (49.200) which led them to winning the event. Towson had running scores of 48.700 on vault, 48.675 on bars and 49.100 on floor.
On balance beam,
Jenna Weitz and
Emerson Hurst tied for first place finishes after scoring season-high scores of 9.925. Weitz's score is also a career-high. Vitoff scored a 9.850 (season-high) and
Ally Wesoly scored a 9.825.
Scouting the Colonials
The George Washington gymnastics team posted its third straight score above the 195.000 threshold with a 195.500 at Towson on Friday evening.
The Colonials earned their 195.500 behind team scores of 48.900 on vault, 48.825 on bars, 48.550 on beam, and a season-high 49.225 on floor.
Deja Chambliss highlighted the squad's night in SECU Arena, either matching or setting new career-highs on all four events to finish the day at the top of the all-around podium with a career-high 39.400.
Scouting the Terrapins
The Maryland Gymnastics team earned a 196.350 to earn first place at the Towson Tri Meet. This is the second highest score of the season for the GymTerps.
Maryland earned a 49.400 team score on floor, the best floor score of the season.
Junior Randi Morris matched her career-high 9.825. Freshman Aleka Tsiknias earned a career-best 9.900 in the leadoff position.
Scouting the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs placed second (194.375) in a five-team meet hosted by the University of Maryland on Sunday, March 1. Jacey Baldovino had the highest score on bars amongst the Bulldogs (9.850). Charlotte Cooperman scored a 9.725 on beam. Alyssa Firth tied for fourth on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800. This is the third time this season where Firth has score 9.800 or higher on the floor exercise.
Scouting the Tribe
The Tribe placed fourth in a five-team meet hosted by the University of Maryland on March 1 with a score of 193.900. The Tribe collectively scored a season-high on vault with a score of 48.775. This tied the fourth-best score in the event in William and Mary Gymnastics history.
Katie Waldman placed third in all-around with a score of 39.000. Erika Marr and Mary Graceyn Gordon both hit matching career-highs scores on vault (9.825). Elizabeth Snoddy reached a season-best score in the floor exercise with a score of 9.775.

Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area.
- For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season.
- Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition.
- Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations.
- Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
