BOSTON – Many bright moments highlighted the day for the Towson University indoor track and field team during day two of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championships.
After competing in six out of 17 events, Towson is in the lead with 33 points.
How it Happened
- Christina Riggins (7.56 & personal-record), Crystal Johnson (7.58) and Shamika Burton (7.61) all qualified for the 60-meter dash semi-finals. All three Tigers, Burton (7.51), Riggins (7.52) and Johnson (7.55) advanced to the 60-meter finals tomorrow.
- Later in the 200-meter dash, Johnson (24.55) qualified for the 200-meter dash finals.
- McKenzie Delahanty finished with a time of 17.41.50 in the 5000-meter run.
- Helnsarah Penda qualified for the 60-meter hurdles after finishing in third (8.58) semi-finals.
- Hayley Horavth finished second in the pole vault jumping 4.10m (13' 5.25") breaking her own indoor record.
- Michella Obijiaku set a new school and meet record in the weight throw throwing 20.66m. Obijiaku also broke the Italian National record. Elisia Lancaster came in second 19.67m, and Georgia Coleman came in sixth 18.20m.
