WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two highest event scores highlighted the day for the Towson University gymnastics team finishing with the highest road total score of 195.625 in a five-team meet at George Washington Sunday afternoon.
Inside the Charles E. Center, the Tigers earned running scores on bars (49.075-highest), vault (48.850-highest), beam (48.800) and floor (48.900) to earn their total score.
Host George Washington finished the meet scoring 195.825. Towson defeated Maryland (195.300), William & Mary (194.725) and Yale (193.300).
Thanks to a lot of new season-highs from the Tigers, the score of 195.625 also became a top-ten score in Towson history.
How it Happened
- Emerson Hurst finished in fourth place on vault with a new season-high score of 9.825. Camille Vitoff tied for sixth with a 9.8.
- It was a five-way tie on bars for seventh-place, including Towson's Tess Zientek and Vitoff both scoring a 9.850. Zinetek tied her season-high. Kyla Gamble and Jaz Kauffman both finished with career and season-high scores of 9.8's.
- Hurst led the way for the Tigers with a 9.850 on beam.
- Melissa Temkov and Hurst both tied for seventh on floor with 9.8's. Temkov tied her season-high.
