TOWSON, Md. – Highlighted by the highest home opening vault score in school history, the Towson University gymnastics team walked away with a final score of 194.225 in a tri-meet on Friday night inside of SECU Arena.
The Pink meet welcomed East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) teams NC State and Temple to the arena. NC State finished with a score of 194.600 while Temple scored a 193.600.
The Tigers had running scores of 48.700 on vault, 48.500 on bars, 48.025 on beam and a wonderful 49.000 on floor.
How it Happened
- Camille Vitoff debuted her Yurchenko 1.5 for the first time and got a career high on vault scoring a 9.850, tying her for second place.
- Sarah Girot got a career high on bars scoring a 9.825 tying her for third place with Vitoff and Amy Stewart.
- Emerson Hurst captured a first place overall finish on beam scoring a season-high 9.800. Jenna Weitz came in second (9.750) and Allison Zuhlke came in third (9.700).
- Grace Vaillancourt had a career-high on bars scoring a 9.800.
- Junior Nikki Borkowski got a career-high on floor scoring a 9.850 and tying for second with Paige Casper who tied her career-high. Lauren Bolen also had a career-high on floor scoring a 9.775 and Weitz tied her career-high (9.775).
