TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team has signed eight freshmen to National Letters of Intent (NLI) to welcome in future Tigers for 2023.
All eight players will be playing their first collegiate season in 2023 for Towson, enrolling in Fall 2022. They all signed their NLIs during the national signing period, which began on Nov. 10.
"We are very excited to add these players to our program as athletes, students and most importantly, high character young women." said Towson head coach

Cheyenne Beayon – 5-6 Pitcher – Owings Mills, Md./Mount De Sales
From just up I-695 comes Cheyenne Beayon, who earned First Team All-Conference honors as a junior at Mount De Sales. The two-time team captain has hit over .550 in all three years in high school, including having a .750 batting average last season. On the club level, Beayon competed with the Gold Coast Hurricanes, which won a national championship at the 2021 USA Softball D2/D3 showcase. Beayon follows in the footsteps of her mother, Lori, who also played softball at Towson.
Cara Bohner – 5-5 Infielder – Danville, Pa./Danville Area
Cara Bohner comes to Towson from central Pennsylvania, having led Danville Area to a 2021 PIAA District IV AAAA championship. An All-Pennsylvania Second Team shortstop as a junior, Bohner also is a two-time all-area player, including First Team in 2021 after hitting .492 with 11 extra base hits and 13 stolen bases, also having a 7-0 record and 0.96 ERA as a pitcher. Her walk-off double earned Danville Area a 2021 conference title. She will join former Danville Area teammate
Morgan Wagner.
Isabella Canesi – 6-0 Outfielder/First Base – Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional
Isabella Canesi will be the team's first player from New Jersey since 2017. Leading Mainland Regional to a pair of conference titles, Canesi, having a .433 career average in high school, earned Second Team All-New Jersey honors, also being a two-time all-conference and All-AC Press selection, playing club with the NJ Gators. She is also a four-time all-conference recipient in volleyball, holding the school record in each aces and kills.
Addie Ferguson – 5-9 Catcher/First Base – Valencia, Calif./West Ranch
Continuing the tradition of Californians coming across the country to play for Towson, Abbie Ferguson earned 2021 C.I.F. Southern Section All-Foothill League First Team recognition, also being the team's MVP after hitting .405 with seven home runs. In club play, she competes with the So Cal Athletics Marinakis National 18U Team.
Grace Franczyk – 5-5 Catcher/Third Base – Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon
From the Philadelphia area comes Grace Franczyk, one of the most versatile players for Wissahickon. She was named as a Player to Watch by
PAPrepLive for the 2021 season, leading the team to a 10-win season as a junior. She competes with the 18U TNT National SB Team, which competed in the southeast United States this November.
Nadia Martyniuk – 5-7 Infielder – Macedon, N.Y./Gananda
Western New York native Nadia Martyniuk is a three-sport standout at Gananda High, competing in softball, basketball and volleyball for the school. She has earned honors in each softball, being a 2021 Wayne County First Team All-League player, and in basketball, notching Wayne County Third Team. She formerly competed in the USA Softball All-American Games in Region 1, also being on the Conklin Raiders in club.
Alyssa Myint – 5-7 Infielder – Norfolk, Va./Tallwood
Myint travels to Towson from the eastern Virginia area. This past season, Myint, a member of the USA Softball High Performance Program U17 Virginia Athlete Pool, helped lead Tallwood to a regional final appearance as a middle infielder, also hitting .315 in 2019 to be Honorable Mention All-Region. Myint competes with the Virginia Legends Premier 18U team.
Kellie Zoerb – 5-5 Outfielder/Utility – Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted-Post
Kellie Zoerb comes to Towson from southern New York, leading Corning Painted-Post to a 2021 Class AA Sectional title. Hitting over .509 in her softball career, Zoerb earned 2021 NFCA All-East Region First Team and First Team All-Star Selection Class AA STAC in the infield. She also led her high school basketball team to pair of tournament titles. Zoerb plays club ball with PA Chaos 18U Gold Spina.
