LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Brian Benzing, Nick McClure and Michael Fazio each earned top finishes to help the Towson University men's swimming and diving team to end the Bucknell Invitational in first place.
The Tigers finished the three-day meet with a total of 1,435 points. Bucknell was the only other team to pass the 1,000-point mark with 1,229 points. Rounding out the rest of the field was Davidson (997), Rider (988.5), NJIT (915), Fordham (637) and La Salle (429.5).
How it Happened
- Benzing paced the pool in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:59.85.
- McClure also got the win in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in 1:46.60.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Fazio placed first with a time of 44:76. Ryan Baldino (45:61) also took fourth. The three first place finishers combined for 96 points.
- With a time of 2:58.90, the Tigers' 400-yard freestyle relay team of Benzing, Fazi, Coby Ockert and Baldino finished in second place.
- In the 1650-yard freestyle, Dean Blakely clocked a time of 16:05.89 to place third.
