Gymnastics Announces Themes for 2022 Meets

TOWSON, Md. – As the 2022 season quickly approaches, the Towson University women's gymnastics team has announced themes for the Tigers' six home meet dates. All home meets will be at SECU Arena.

Towson, which reached the NCAA Regional Meet last spring, opens its home schedule on Jan. 14 with a 6 p.m. quad meet with William & Mary, West Virginia and West Chester for a Pink Meet in recognition of breast cancer awareness.

The Tigers return to SECU Arena on Feb. 2 for a tri-meet with George Washington and William & Mary for a 6 p.m. start. That meet has been slated as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Meet in conjunction with TUAIDE (Towson University Athletes for Inclusion, Diversity and Equity).

Friday, Feb. 4, a quad-meet with Temple, LIU and Eastern Michigan, will be the Tigers' annual Pride Meet. The following week on Feb. 13 in a dual meet with University of Pennsylvania, the Tigers will host the Shelley Calloway Meet. That meet's theme will be domestic violence awareness with a 2 p.m. start.

On Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m., Towson hosts Ursinus College for the George McGinty Alumni Meet. With a unique twist for the event, the student-athletes will pick their own charities to which they can bring awareness.

Towson's final meet of the year is set for Friday, March 11 with a 6 p.m. meet against George Washington and University of Maryland. In addition to senior day festivities, that meet's theme will be Own Your Roar, based on a student-athlete mental health awareness campaign founded by former Towson gymnast Olivia Lubarsky.

Season tickets for the 2022 campaign are still available, with adult tickets priced at $25, youth (5-17) season tickets are priced at $20 and senior (65 years or older) season tickets are available for $20.
