TOWSON, Md. – The top scorer for the Towson University men's basketball team in a big victory last Wednesday,
Nicolas Timberlake has been honored as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.
Timberlake is the third different Tiger to be recognized as the CAA Player of the Week this season.
Cam Holden and
Jason Gibson have also received this weekly honor.
The redshirt junior out of Braintree, Massachusetts helped lead the Tigers to a 69-52 statement victory over Navy on Dec. 22, Towson's third consecutive victory. Towson stands at 9-4 overall with a 62 NCAA Net ranking to conclude non-conference play, including victories over Kent State, Navy and UNCG.
Timberlake was one point shy of his career-high in the victory, going 9-for-12 from the field, including 5-for-6 from three-point range, for 24 points, adding three assists. He scored 12 points in each half, leading all players in points in the game.
