TOWSON, Md. - Towson University graduate student
Lauren Coleman was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Field Athlete of the Week Wednesday afternoon.
Coleman opened up her season with a victory in the shot put and a third-place finish in the hammer throw at the UNCW Invitational on March 6. In the shot put, she recorded a conference leading mark of 15.52m (50-11). The effort has her ranked fourth in the NCAA East Region and sixth nationally in the event.
In the cage, she tossed the hammer a distance of 53.37m (175-1). The mark ranks third in the CAA and seventh in the NCAA East Region.Â
Other award winner include Sarah Leach as the Track Athlete of the Week from UNCW.
Towson is back in action this weekend March 19-20 in High Point, North Carolina for the Bill Webb Multi/Bob Davidson Invite.
