Will Canny took second on the 3-meter board during the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship meet at Rawstrom Natatorium on the campus of the University of Delaware.
Canny paired Saturday's 3-meter silver medal with a 1-meter second place finish Friday evening. Ajani Dorner, a sophomore for the Tigers, finished third on the 3-meter board.
How it Happened
- In the preliminary round, Canny hit a 267.30 on the 3-meter board, finishing second entering the evening's finals.
- Teammate Dorner finished third and 35-points clear of fourth place. The sophomore nabbed a 244.60. UNCW's Kolbein Bjugan took first in the preliminary round with a 325.10.
- Heading into the finals, Canny posted a 305.00, scoring the program's third 300 or better score. He is the only Tiger to hit over 300 twice in his career in the 3-meter event.
- On the final dive of his career, Canny nailed a 56.25 to seal a second-place finish.
- Dorner finished third overall on the 3-meter board, posting a 237.95 for another third-place finish, following up on his 1-meter bronze Friday night.
