Towson Serving as Host for CAA Women’s Soccer Tournament

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University is set to serve as host of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Soccer Tournament at the newly-renovated Tiger Field starting tomorrow.

Tiger Field is the official home of Towson women's soccer and women's lacrosse and saw multiple upgrades this past calendar year as part of the Lower Fields Complex renovation.  Among the upgrades to the stadium include a new grandstand, restrooms and concession stand plus a new full-field artificial field surface.

The facility also has all-new lighting, allowing for night games and practices for teams.  The lights include the MUSCO Show-Light package for programmed light shows and effects.  Fans get to enjoy an exciting light show when Towson teams score a goal.

Tiger Field is part of the Lower Fields Complex, which serves as a competition and practice area for several Towson teams.  The complex has two full-field artificial turf surfaces and a third practice field, which all Tiger programs take advantage of.

In the spring 2021 season, each Towson women's soccer and women's lacrosse played their games at Tiger Field to take advantage of the newly-upgraded facility.  Highlights include Towson women's soccer winning its first-ever game over James Madison on March 14 and women's lacrosse earning a victory over No. 8 Loyola on Feb. 24.

The CAA Semifinal games will be tomorrow, April 15th at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the CAA title game set for Saturday, April 17th at 3 p.m.  Hofstra and Elon battle in the 4 p.m. semifinal with UNCW taking on Northeastern in the 7 p.m. semifinal.  The winner of the tournament earns an automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament.

Towson has served as the host for two CAA Tournaments this season, including the CAA Volleyball Tournament last week.
