IRVING, Texas – Towson University's
Tibo Debaillie has been selected as a member of the 2021 National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.
To qualify, players must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and have completed collegiate play.
Debaillie, a defensive lineman from Gistel, Belgium, is set to graduate from Towson this spring, currently holding a 3.378 GPA in physical education.
Last week, Debaillie was selected in the 2021 Canadian Football League (CFL) Draft by the Edmonton Football Team in the third round. With Towson from 2017-19, he played in 22 career games, starting on the defensive line in 2019 with 28 tackles, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
This is the third straight year where Towson has had a player earn this prestigious distinction.
Tom Flacco was named to the Hampshire Honor Society in 2020 while
Matt Kauffman,
Grant Udinski and
Zane Ventimiglia were recognized in 2019.
Debaillie is one of 908 players from 257 schools across the country to be part of the 2021 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is in its 15
th year.
