Wilson to Join Towson Volleyball

TOWSON, Md. -- Bringing four years of collegiate experience to the Towson University women's volleyball program, Megan Wilson will be joining the Tigers this fall.

Wilson, who hails from Brookville, Maryland, will join the Tigers as a graduate student, working towards her Masters degree in geography and environmental planning. She graduated from Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in astrophysics.

Towson and Wilson are familiar with one another, having met twice on the court during Wilson's career at Virginia.The Tigers met Virginia for a four-set Towson victory during the 2019 campaign at the Rutgers Invitational. Wilson finished that match with a team-best 23 assists, adding a kill and a service ace during the Rutgers Invitational. In Wilson's rookie season, Towson took on Virginia at the Appalachian Invitational in Boone, North Carolina. There, Wilson finished with 29 assists in her fifth collegiate match.

The 5-foot, 9-inch setter finished sixth all-time in Cavalier program history with 2,559 career assists, averaging 7.17 per set during her time on Grounds, including a career-best 9.04. Wilson appeared in 357 sets, dropping in 49 service aces in that span. The Sherwood High School product added 61 career kills, including 30 during her rookie campaign (2017-18). 

On the defensive side of the ball, Wilson accounted for 461 career digs, averaging 1.29 per set, including 1.43 in her final campaign with the Cavaliers and had just one reception error in her career. She added 37 total blocks as well, including 19 block assists as a rookie in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). 

During her scholastic career, Wilson was a three-year varsity starter for the Warriors and head coach Ben Sanger, finishing with 564 career assists and was named to the state finals all-tournament team as a senior. Wilson was a two-time All-County pick in Montgomery County as a first team selection and collected All-Met Honorable Mention plaudits as well from the Washington Post. She was a four-time scholar-athlete as well. Wilson played on the Metro of DC club volleyball program for head coach Silvia Johnson.
