JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hayley Horvath from the Towson University track and field team set the mark today as she punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon in June. She qualified in the pole vault Friday afternoon at Hodges Stadium on the campus of University of North Florida.

Horvath is the first Tiger to advance to the NCAA championships in the pole vault and the first Tiger to compete since Ksenia Safnova went in 2018 for the hammer throw.

The top 12 qualified to compete in Eugene June 9-12 at the historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus. Horvath finished in fourth place tying her personal-best mark of 4.27m (14-0). She was one of four to finish with the mark.

Horvath is the 2021 ECAC and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) pole vault champion.

How it Happened

• Lauren Coleman finished 37th with a 56.87m (186-7) mark in the hammer throw. She also competed in the shot put finishing 32nd with a toss of 15.34m (50-4).
• Kayla Thorpe threw 43.10m (141-5) in the javelin finishing 37th.
• Crystal Johnson ran a time of 11.63 in the 100m dash finishing 37th.
