PLL Week Two Summary

ATLANTA -- It was the tightest game of the week in the Premier Lacrosse League for the trio of former Towson University men's lacrosse standouts.

The Cannons LC had one game last weekend at Kennesaw State University's Fifth Third Stadium, falling to the two-time reigning champion Whipsnakes LC in overtime. The three former captains, Ryan Drenner, Zach Goodrich, and Brendan Sunday, were all available for the showdown on Saturday.

Below is a summary of each players' weekends in Atlanta.

Ryan Drenner (Cannons LC)
Ryan Drenner continued his steady pace for the Cannons, adding another three points to his season, going for two goals and one assist against his former squad. The Westminster, Maryland product finished tied for the Cannons' second-most points of the weekend while taking seven shots. Drenner did not commit a turnover in the lone game.

Zach Goodrich (Cannons LC)
Now in his second weekend with the PLL version of the Cannons, Zach Goodrich notched an assist in the loss to the Whipsnakes LC. On the defensive end, the Stevenville, Marylander posted two ground balls and caused two turnovers. Goodrich has five caused turnover this year, leading the league's midfielders in that category.

Brendan Sunday (Cannons LC)
A week after he was moved to the player pool following training camp with Atlas LC, Brendan Sunday rejoined his former teammates at Cannons LC. While dressed for Saturday's tilt, Sunday did not register any stats in the overtime loss.

This Week's Schedule
The PLL is on a bye week. The league returns to Baltimore next weekend for a set of games at Homewood Field. Cannons LC has one game that weekend, taking on Atlas LC on Sunday, June 27 at noon. The game will be streamed on Peacock.
